This evocative photograph captures the essence of the 1895 Argyll Highlanders, a distinguished regiment of the British Army. Dressed in full regimental uniform, the colonel wears the iconic tartan kilt and sash of the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders, which was first adopted in 1747.
