The Duke of Connaught, born in 1850, was the third son of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert. He served in the British Army and held various high-ranking positions in the military and government. Princess Ingrid, the Duke's granddaughter, was born in 1910 as the eldest child of Crown Princess Margaret of Sweden and Prince Carl of Sweden. Ingrid married Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark on May 24, 1935, in a grand ceremony held in Stockholm. The wedding was significant as it took place on the 116th anniversary of Queen Victoria's birth, making it a fitting tribute to her legacy.
