In ancient Egyptian mythology, it was believed that after death, one's heart would be weighed against Ma'at, representing truth and justice. If their heart balanced out with Ma'at's feather on one side of scales, it meant they had lived an honorable life and could proceed into eternal paradise. However, if their heart outweighed Ma'at's feather due to wrongdoing or impurity, they faced punishment or nonexistence.
